AUTHENTIC SOUTHEAST 

ASIAN CUISINE

Our Asian cuisine will have a focus of Japanese and Korean dishes. Japan and Korea are located in Southeast Asia and hold similarities in both culture and cuisine. When looking at both Japanese and Korean cuisine, we see a commonality of rice being implemented in our restaurant, as it is the main staple of food in both countries. Aside from the similarities in starch, we see both countries rely heavily in both, soups/broths to make their unique dishes.. For example, Japan holds pride in dishes like soba (noodle) dipping sauce, which relies on fish and herbs to create a signature flavor. Korea on the other hand offers a variety of soups incorporating the soybean. Using the soybean paste as well as the soybean sprout to create a base flavor, which is then transformed into many different soup based dishes.

We chose this region for our capstone lunch primarily to help serve one of the largest demographics at The University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Korean and Japanese cuisine is also extremely delicious and can be made light on a hot summer day, like May 1st.
